The Walker 2050 system uses the tried and trusted combined anemometer cup and vane direction sensor, the Walker P296, which gives you accuracy in a robust compact package.
The sensor connects directly to a standard Walker P1249 wind speed and direction indicator which gives digital displays of relative wind speed and direction via our P293B cable (40mtr as standard).
The wind direction is also displayed on a simulated analogue display by use of OLED technology.
The Walker P1249 indicator interfaces in NMEA 0183/RS422 to other ship systems using the data sentence MWV.
The system operates within a wind speed range of up to 100 knots and in a temperature range between -35 to +70 Celsius.
The Walker 2050Mk2 system fully complies with IEC 60945, IEC 61162-2 and IEC 62288. Although wind systems are not required to be approved, our wind system is covered with a BV certificate.
